Research
A large gap still exists between Research being undertaken and commercialisation of it. Ironbark Company's Research focuses on:
- Development of the Ironbark Company's Resource Centre as a means of enhancing the performance of business through access to quality research.
- Ways of working more directly with academics and their research.
- Innovation and facilitation of better business practices, creation of new opportunities and the role of business in sustaining community development.
Important Research Issues
- Disbursement and usability of Research outcomes. How will outcomes be interfaced with the market in order to maximise positive impact in terms of competitiveness and use of knowledge capital?
- What is the best way to contribute to the development of communities in rural Australia?
- Utilisation of Virtual Business Incubators in lowering the business death rate.
- Reversal of the decline of Regional Australia and the quality and availability of research and active knowledge for the development of community resources and its businesses?
- Practical innovation and enterprise methodologies. How can we better utilise the plethora of structures, tools, processes, communications and enabling technology in Regional Australia?
- How can we facilitate the availability of true Venture Capital and the financing of opportunities, particularly in Regional Australia?
- How can we interface with the dynamic world marketplace, particularly in Regional Australia, including the retention, expansion and relocation of suitable businesses?
- Developing tourism initiatives that will make a difference to rural communities.
- How can we improve the utilisation of consultants, advisers and coaches in the growth and sustainability of Regional Australia?
To support sustained development through application of research we are seeking to establish an advisory board representing research, business and community interests, to help guide activities and work to provide access to funds. The advisory board will focus on the Central West of NSW and will play an important role in focusing on the emerging national and regional agendas.
Justification of the Research
- The need for improving the economic situation of Regional Australia
- The need for converting current and future research into a form that will be utilised by the people and organisations in regional Australia that need it.
- The need for leveraging and providing quicker access to practical solutions to the changes of out fast passed global economy.
